Park Byung-ho (37-Samsung Lions) unleashed a cool home run against his "former team," KT WIZ, a month after his transfer.
Park Byung-ho started as the seventh batter and first baseman in the lineup against visiting KT at Katie Wiz Park in Suwon, South Korea, on Aug. 28 and hit a solo shot in his first at-bat.
With the score tied 0-0 in the top of the second inning and no one on base, Park stepped to the plate after bowing his head in greeting to the KT home crowd, then lifted a two-pitch curveball from KT starter Joey Hyun over the left-center field wall.
The distance measured by the scorekeeper was 125 meters.
It was the first time Park Byung-ho had hit a home run against KT in about two years and eight months since Oct. 7, 2021, when he played in a Kiwoom Heroes uniform.
Park, who signed a free agent (FA) contract with KT in 2022 for up to 3 billion won ($3 million), requested a transfer from the organization as his playing opportunities dwindled this year.
KT rushed to make a trade, and on May 28, it made a one-for-one deal with Samsung, receiving Oh Jae-il and sending Park Byung-ho.
A month after the trade, Samsung and KT met in Suwon.
Oh Jae-il started as KT's No. 4 designated hitter, 실시간 바카라사이트 and Park Byung-ho started as the No. 7 hitter and first baseman, creating the Park Byung-ho-Oh Jae-il derby.
Oh Jae-il hit a single to left field in the first inning, while Park Byung-ho launched a home run in the first at-bat of the second inning.
Park Byung-ho, who has been slumping lately, added a home run in 15 days after hitting one against the LG Twins on the 13th.
It was his ninth home run of the season.
